Yay more kitsuke today! I got a few more ensembles together for photos. Now I've got pictures of myself in almost every kimono I own.
This is the first and last time this ensemble will ever be worn! To my great horror, I discovered that the Taisho era, dragon patterned maru obi I bought last spring is COMPLETELY UNWEARABLE! I knew the fabric was weak to begin with, so I was careful not to pull it too hard when dressing. After I was dressed though, a piece of the obi (silver lame, fabric and all) just FELL OFF! I wasn't even touching it! It just flaked and FELL OFF! So yeah, I will never wear that obi again - so much for using as part of my Ryuu-sama Oiran reprisal...
Anyways, this is the Peacock Lady furisode that I restored over the summer. I decided to wear peacock feathers in my hair and a dramatic peacock feather obidome for this outfit. The obidome was actually a piece I made a number of years ago for another costume.
