While at the artist's jam at Anime North 2009, I finished a few last minute pieces to sell at the convention.

This is a big beautiful chrysanthemum piece done in colours fading from white, to yellow and through to green. It reminds me of a big ball of sunshine.

This piece is for sale in my Etsy shop here: [link]

This is such a beautiful piece, I love all your works! I am just getting into making Kanzashi myself, I have no trouble making ume blossoms but I simply can't figure out how to make the multiple layers of the kiku blossom. Can you please help me?? do you simply make two flowers (one smaller than the other) and put them together to make the layered effect, or do you put petals underneath the base?? please help! I would really appreaciate it!!

Thank you! These kiku pieces are built on a styrofoam ball base. That's what give them their shape and allows for the layering.

Thank you! Yay! I'm hoping to have a few more kimono related events going on. There were a few things I wasn't able to take on this year because I was unsure if I'd be in the country for the convention, but I'd love to get those events going again for next year.

What is the piece made out of? On my screen it looks like pieces of fun foam or something like that, but it may just be me.

It's made out of little squares of folded fabric glued onto half a styrofoam ball.
