Pink Peacock

This is a pretty little houmongi I got for $0.99. It's got beautiful, fine peacock feathers embroidered on it. There's also a cute little crane crest embroidered on the back. Unfortunately the design is so soft that my camera had difficulty focusing on it (and I'm useless at focusing through a viewfinder), so the photos of the kimono aren't the best. This houmongi is a very pale pink colour, and this is probably about as close to an iromuji as I'll ever own. Don't get me wrong, iromuji can be lovely and they definitely have their purpose, but I tend to look at kimono as canvases on which a work of art is displayed. And to me, iromuji are kind of like colour field paintings - a bit boring.
