Momoware Tutorial by Kurokami-Kanzashi Momoware Tutorial by Kurokami-Kanzashi
This is for all you would be Halloween Maiko out there!

Ever wonder how to do the Maiko doo? Well here it is! A tutorial on creating the Momoware style with your own hair.

What you will need:
Brush
Comb
Hair ties like crazy
2 Hair ties with beaded ends
Bobby pins
Cardboard cylinder
Decorative ribbon or cloth

That's right, it's all stuff you can probably find in your washroom - otherwise you might need to pay a visit to the local drugstore.

Enjoy!

Wasn't able to do the momoware. Settled with the tsubushi-shimada. But I loved it anyhow.

Wowww, thank you so much for posting this~! I just have one question... How long is your hair, and how short would be "too short," if you know what I mean. ^-^

Hi there, my hair is about waist length and it's a bit long for the mage. I'm not sure how short would be too short. Most of the time in nihongami, though extensions are used to do the mage. As long has your hair is long enough to do the front and sides with a little bit of a ponytail left, you should be able to McGuiver an extension into a suitable top knot.

I recently visited my local Ulta beauty supply store, and they had these little hair combs that had rolls of artificial hair in various colors on them to add volume to hair styles. Those might help with this do. :3
