Legolas

This is not at all kimono related, but one of my recent crafting creations that I thought I'd show all of you.  This is my completed LOTR Legolas cosplay from Anime North. Unfortunately, I didn't like any of the full body pictures that included the cloak. The background was too dark for this costume, so the cloak / lower half didn't show up very well. At least I got some good shots of the jerkin though, since that required the most work.

For those who are wondering, I wasn't going for a movie accurate version of the costume, but rather movie inspired, so I did take some liberties. For one, I went with more saturated colours; deeper green and brown rather than grey. I also wanted more contrast in the tunic, so I went with cream silk instead of grey. I also chose to avoid the suede fabrics used in the movie and used some faux leather instead for a slightly more armoured look. The lorien leaf pin, trousers and boots were actually Value Village finds, and it's difficult to see, but my ear tips are actually lovely, bejewelled ear cuffs made by one of the vendors at the convention.
