Well, everyone I have another little beauty here for you. This is Kuregata - Nightfall. She's a beautiful pre world war black crested furisode. Historically these kimono were often worn as wedding dresses, or at least by young unmarried women on very formal occasions. This particular piece features boldly dyed peonies, chrysanthemums, and pulownia with various musical instruments. I really enjoy the crispness and elegance of the yuzen work on this piece, so I included some nice big shots of the details. This piece is beautifully preserved, though there is some discolouration on the black parts. That's to be expected given her age, though. For the most part she's still a nice rich black. I named her nightfall, because the dark background and subdued colours remind me of an evening scene. Also, the musical instruments are just right for an evening's entertainment.
