This year, the theme of the Anime North Kimono Fashion Show will be Fantasy! The powers that be have pushed me towards some more non-traditional, creative and even some over the top kitsuke styling this year, so I've decided to do some sketches to help me visualize the outfits we will be putting together. In most cases, I don't know who will be wearing which of these outfits yet, so there are a few detail I've left out in most cases (mostly shoes and hair styles - as that will depend on the models).
Next up in my kimono fashion show lineup is our little Kitsune (Fox Bride). This is another more traditional outfit, the twist is that the model will be wearing an uchikake instead of a regular kimono. The uchikake will be dressed like a hikizuri. Though part of this character's inspiration comes from the story of the Fox Bride, I decided not to use a katsura or traditional wedding kanzashi for this outfit. To modernize the look of this ensemble, the model's natural hair will be used, and she'll be wearing a pair of fox ears and a fox mask instead. The model's obi will be tied in bunko musubi with one side dangling a bit lower than the other. Her fox tail will be attached so that it is partially hidden by the dangling end of the obi since kitsune often try to disguise their nature when among people.
