Thanks you so much. I have a Japanese book but this actually translates it into materials I know I can get rather than special wires and tops for them^^

i just have a question:
how thick is your crafter's wire usually? because there are some that are .7mm and some smaller...

The one I use is fairly standard, I'd say not to go smaller than 0.5mm. Anything less than that would likely be too flimsy. You need something fairly stiff, but also something you can work with easily.
I use buttons for the backs of mine, usually...I hate stabbing the paper! XD;

Do you use those metal forks for your kanzashi? What do you make them of?
Oh buttons! That's a really good idea! I'll have to ask my friend to buy me some button making pieces. How do you attach the wires to the back, though?
I bend them over. :) With plyers, (or my fingers, if it's light wire). Then I use really strong cement-glue and let it cure overnight.
