Ha ha, my quest to photograph myself in all my kimono goes on!

Kaede no Odori - Dance of the Maple Leaves

Here we have my relatively, newly arrived Kaede no Odori dance kimono, and taisho, yuzen maru obi. I also paired the kimono with my pink haori that I purchased at last years's Haru Matsuri.

The haori sleeves fit this kimono a bit better than it fits my taisho houmongi.

I really like the colour combination between the obi and the kimono, and who can resist the maple leaf motif!

Unfortunately it wasn't a very good kitsuke day for me this time. I actually wore an ohashiori with this one, but I just couldn't get it to look nice, so I ended up tucking it up under the obi for the pictures.

you are lucky to even GET an ohashori. I am so tall that if I get one, it is ALWAYS under the obi. pfft :(

I accidentally stumbled upon your blog and deviantart page. I'm happy I did! Was needing reference for my

Thanks! My, how tall are you? I'm about 6' (180cm) so I often simply don't bother to try squeezing an ohashiori out of my kimono, especially the really old ones.

Ha ha, yeah you're in the same boat as me. Over time I've developed a sixth sense for long kimono. That's one of the reason I love hikizuri so much, they're some of the only ones that actually fit me.
