Hungary Kitsuke

This is one of the outfits I'm putting together for the 2017 Anime North Kimono Fashion Show. It's actually the one I'm hoping to wear myself. Our theme is Kimono Around the World.

This particular outfit is based on the traditional embroidery and costume of the Mezőkövesd region of Hungary. I'm hoping to embroider a mofuku tomesode for this outfit. Originally I had plans for something much more dramatic with regards to the embroidery (more similar to the aprons in the bottom left reference photo), but realistically, I know that time constraints will not allow for it, and I haven't done any embroidery myself in quite a while. As a result, I've simplified the embroidery. Here's hoping I will be able to finish it in time. If not, I will find other ways to incorporate it; possibly through the use of an embroidered purse or vest. The bowler hat is more a feature of a men's outfit, but I like the look of it and thought it would be cute with this particular ensemble. This will likely be the outfit that requires the most work for me, so here's hoping I can pull it off.
