Today was the first day of the Road to Asia Festival where I would be selling my kanzashi. Today I dressed in my Hinotori Higure (Phoenix Sunset) furisode and one of my phoenix fukuro obi. I tried to base my ensemble on a single colour and theme - phoenixes and vermillion!

I didn't have anyone helping me this day, but a fellow seller was more than happy to take this shot of my in my kitsuke by the turning maples.

The background is great (if you don't look at the cars) & the Kimono is very pretty

Thanks! Yeah, would have been nice not to have the cars around.

Wow, what a lovely furisode! I tend to like patterns like this as opposed to the all over ones (though those can be cute to!), and the red and gold is just lovely. It makes me feel like I'm back in Kyoto at the Golden Pavillion...

Do you know what era this furisode is from?

Thank you! This furisode is Taisho period - so 1911 - 1925. And it's in unbelievable condition for its age.

Ah, I thought that it was Taisho, but I wasn't positive. I have a black furisode with tsuta mon from Taisho...It's a really great era.

Urk, I meant monfuku. ^^; It has mid-length sleeves, so I always get confused...
