YAY!!! My chaya-tsuji furisode is finished! I'm so in love with this kimono...

Originally I was planning to lengthen it and make it a nice long hikizuri, but I just couldn't bring myself to ruin the artistry of the fabric by cutting it across the back. I had it hanging in my basement for a week as I struggled to get up the nerve to lengthen it, but I never did. I decided I'd rather keep the artistry intact and have a hikizuri that's not quite long enough rather than have a very long kimono that would be lacking on display. I think that decision paid off - this kimono luffs me back. XD

It took me forever to finish her and I don't know why. I didn't do anything I don't normally do (aside from padded sleeve cuffs), but that didn't take long. Anyways, she turned out amazingly - I can't describe how happy I am with her.

I'll get photos of myself dressed in this kimono another time. Right now I'm working on an easy darari obi to go with her. It's going to be a pale pink colour which I think will bring out the warmer tones in the yuzen work very nicely.

Anyways, you really need to see this kimono up close to appreciate her. So I'll upload some detail shots too.
