Amagaki by Kurokami-Kanzashi Amagaki by Kurokami-Kanzashi
Amagaki  - Sweet Persimmon

This is a lovely persimmon themed hikizuri that I bought on YJA.  It was originally in disrepair with the bottoms of the sleeves coming undone, and one layer of padding missing around the hem.  I replaced the padding and fixed the sleeves and now it's ready to wear again!

For the kitsuke photos, I attempted to dress it with my dragon hikinuki obi, but I need more practice tying that type of obi since the extra twist required to get the pattern right side up on the otaiko knot always gets me turned around.

You can view the "before" images of this kimono here:  www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi…

Eventually this kimono will be put up for sale in my Etsy shop - though likely not until June.  For now, I'm holding onto it in case I decide to use it for the 2014 Anime North Kimono Display.

Super pretty! But I think the knot might be a bit too big. When I did Hatsumode this year (new year temple visit) I was corrected and she shrunk my obi size down. Here is one of the only pictures that was taken.

Thanks! I agree about the knot size. As I mentioned, I need more practice tying hikinuki obi. I was concentrating too much on getting the pattern right side up, and the size / shape of the obi suffered.

But I leve how the obi looks, and you tried hanging it next to the kimono for photos instead of tying it? That is usually what the shops here do.
