So, after hours of work, I have another maiko set to show you all.
This one is based on Ajisai, Hydrangea. The structure of the flowers is quite similar to my Ume Maiko Set, but there are no stamens in the flowers. Hydrangea range in their number of petals between 3 and 5. I like nice round flowers so I went with 5. These flowers also change colour depending on the acidity of the soil they are growing in. The range anywhere from white, through pink, purple and blue. For this set I tried to focus on the blue and purple range of the flowers with pink and white highlights.
The falls are made in a similar fashion to my wisteria kanzashi [link] though I inverted the fade so that the purple is near the top.
The suggester said: "*Kurokami-Kanzashi has a beautiful gallery full of kimono and kanzashi. Ajisai Maiko Kanzashi Set is one of many expertly crafted hairpiece sets based on authentic geisha hairpieces. This set is based on Hydrangea, and the flowers in the piece perfectly mimic the flowers growing in nature." (Suggested by ~IsBreaLiomCaife and Featured by ^MyntKat)
You're extremely talented! The royal blue colour you've used makes it stand out, and that's what caught my eye when I was just surfing around of dA. I'm pretty sure that if it wouldn't look strange in Australia, I'd love to wear one of these!
Wow, I am so amazed that I can always find a new art form I've never thought of before via DDs. This is gorgeous! I took a look at some of your other pieces, they are absolutely stunning.. no words. Just awe. Great job!
